The official guide for the 2009 Tour de France is selling well. We have this located next to our newspaper stand as well as with our sports magazines. The newspaper stand location is working best – as one would expect. While some have asked for the Guide, most customers purchase on impulse. Our goal is to sell out before the tour starts on July 4.
Do you want my 20 copies? We have never sold 1 copy but we keep getting 20 copies every yr. We have asked for this to stop but because it is annual we keep getting them. Waste of my cashflow and time to send them back.

Not only is it impossible to find this magazine anywhere, but it seems to come out almost after the tour has started! I still do not have a copy and it’s only two days to the start of the tour.

Luke,
Do you have the copies that contain the DVD?

Walter, No there is no DVD in our copies just the program, and there is a large cycling community in our area so you would think it would sell well but still no sales. When we asked we were told there is more content online so why buy something that is not up to date.

I’m looking for a our de France program for an older neighbor who watches the race and I would like to get them a guide. Where in the US or online can I order one for them.

Ours turned up today, As for early returning them, what is the point of returning all of them this early? Even if I did not think I could sell any I would hold a few on the shelves until last day before returns cut off. This way it is possible to build sales and establish a history of what you can sell. I’m not condoning over supply but not holing any stock is just as bad in some cases.

We were allocated the same number as Fairfax’s ones from last year. We got 22, and sold one. This year we were again allocated 22. WTF?? Needless to say, we adjusted it, but we’ll see what happens..

Y&G, We have also been allocated a supply of 22 World Cup mags from Fairfaix and we have also adjusted this ridiculous figure. I would be interested to know how many others were allocated this same amount … how easy is it for Fairfax to allocate the same supply to every agent?

Yep, Wendy. I’d also be interested in whether everyone got the same amount as last year. What’s the point of data if they don’t use it?

talking Tour de France Guide 2011 here :
last year got 70, returned 12.
this year got 82 yesterday, have sold 5 so far. They take no notice of past sales, they just work out how much money they need to sting us for month by month.
Perfect Partners…….. love the AAAC don’tcha !!

LOL
Yep, that’s a bit like teeny weeny us getting (and storing for weeks on end) 100 – yes, folks, one hundred of each cookbook for the recent promotion, while much bigger agents around us got unbelievably small numbers (if what customers said was anything to go by).
Madness. And the bill really, really sucks.
