The magazine distribution model is hard to fathom sometimes. While I am happy to receive more stock of what is selling, I am not happy to receive more of a title which does not sell in the quantities we already receive.
This is the case for Australian Woodsmith magazine – supply quantity increased this week for no apparent reason. I suspect we are not alone.
Mine increased as well I noticed.
Maybe the distributors have a way to plot how many Woodsmiths will be passing through my shop this month.
If they do have a way to plot this, it’s not working very well….
I decreased the supply through NDD’s website a few months back and but it crept up back again. I suspect they have a built in program in their supply software that automaticly increase the quantity after a limited time when newsagents change it. similiar situation with network and gotch. I spent about an hour every two weeks going through the standing orders on all three websites and manually adjust them downwards. You just have to do this frequently.
