News Ltd has established a reader panel through which they are inviting members to voice their opinions through surveys. While inviting feedback on News Ltd newspapers is a good initiative, the approach is not as open or reader driven as it could be. Participants go in the draw for a prize with each survey completed – readers keen to help create better newspapers would participate even if no prize was on offer.
I’ve just had a look at this – and inadvertently submitted a bogus survey response! oops. Not even a chance to review your answers which, by the way, are the only way to get a look at the survey itself! Bang! Before you know it, you’ve submitted your survey answers.
Puhleese! It’s just another (grossly blatant) means of determining which directions to aim advertisers.
It doesn’t invite any feedback whatsoever. If they gave a toss, why would they even ask whether you were the household member in charge of deciding who buys the family car?
It is very rigid in its options, and is not interested in hearing from consumers at all. If it was, it would invite comments for consideration.
This has to be one of the most cynical exploitation exercises I’ve seen in ages.

I registered for the survey 9 days ago. Once you register, the surveys relating to your views on newspapers will get e-mailed to you.
9 days on I have not yet received a survey.
What they do have is all my details about whether i intend to buiy a car in the next 12 months etc. Something smells of database selling to me!!!
