Intralot has provided new in-store marketing collateral to support sales of their products. I especially like the floor decals and that they lead customers to the purchase point. In addition to the decals we have been given new posters, counter mats and other materials. It takes hard work to break into what was a monopoly marketplace and it is good to see that Intralot is continuing to invest.
What is that saying about leading a horse to water? It doesnt matter how many purchase point directionals Intralot provide because their products are hopeless!Seriously Mark its about time you forget about their marketing and concentrate on their lack of sales. The Age puts it all very clearly again today, overpromise, underdeliver and we pay the price both as an operator and a taxpayer.

VIC lotteries just came out of a massive monopoly where tatts had free reign. Of course intralot is going to suffer including newsagency’s for the first 6 months 12 months even up to 18 months maybe more? untill everyone becomes use to who they are and what they do it going to require a lot of work frome everyone on sales points. Name another company that has launched into a monopoly and done excellent in the first 12 months… it just doesn’t happen no matter who you are or who many countrys the company is in. In the long run i think Intralot will pay off, but not untill everything well and truely settles down.

You are missing the point, they didnt launch into a new virgin market, they purchased, by way of a licence, access to an already mature and developed model(ie tattts were forced to give up over 15% of their lottery business)and intralot have absolutely stuffed it up.
if you want a great comparison about another company launching into a mature monopolistic gambling market look at how betfair were given access to the wagering licence and are now absolutely smashing all the old players ie tab and bookies, the customers win by great competetion in the market place, this is what should have happened with intralot but as i say they monumentally and irretrievably stuffed it up

This is none of my business.
Why should anyone have to pay $10K which they have not got to be able to participate?
I have monitored this subject for many months and I do feel for Helen who feels let down, ripped off and disallussioned. I am sure she is not the only one, that is what frustrates me the most, people leave it to others to make a noise and do not contibute when needed.
Personally I think the Victorian Government should reinburse each of the participating Intralot licencees. It is mainly the Newsagency channel which will make or break Intralot?

Your right Derek i am disallussioned but will not give up.I (like 600 or so others )pay large fees to be part of the agents assoc (laav and others )for them to represent us and give us a voice, but they dont seem to have any power.if enough members gave them the power of a proxy vote,to lodge a vote of no confidence with intralot and the govt, and to, as a last resort, if nothing is remedied, collectively turn off the machines (we are mostly losing money anyway so a few weeks of charges only will not affect us any more)till an equitable fair and reasonable solution was achieved, that might make intralot, the govt and the public realise how serious we were.
Unfortunately that is just a dream ,as the associations are useless, and we are too fragmented and fearful as a group about taking such drastic but totally justifiable actions to protect our businesses and livelihoods

Helen, I have not ignored this story by the Herald Sun. I am looking into it. I am not sure where the news content is.

Helen .
The government is only going to embarrass themselves both domestically and internationally if they cancel their licence.
It wont happen.
This is a deliberate government media leak to mislead lottery agents into believing they are concerned.
If they are concerned why don’t they challange Tatts over the franchise agreement/ retail counter space.?
Why don’t they allow Intralot to retail similar games to the block lotto games,
ie via Intralot’s world wide associations and provide a megga lottery.
Why dont’ they initiate discussions with Intralot re a scaled refund for those agents wishing to bail out.?
The Government knows we are doing it hard with Intralot, but the last person the minister is concerned about is the suffering agent.

Arthur your right, the government wont admit to a mistake and risk being humiliated but something needs to happen,i used to sell over $1000 a day in Keno 7 days a week, today i took $4.40 in Keno and average now less than $400 total a week, why should i have to foot the bill for other peoples mistakes with absolutely no recourse.

As i did the research, 33 per cent of Vana 215 members with Intralot products are not covering their costs “and the other ones that were in the positive, it was only a very minor amount Some newsagents are actually considering cancelling that.
The retailers have been blamed by John Katakis. I think that is completely unfair of him to say that. The retailer can only do so much. If you haven’t got the correct product and the advertising is not very good, then you can’t sell it. Therefore let kick them out of our lottery market.

Johnston, I am not confident that the Herald Sun story accurately quoted what John Katakis said to them. When I talked with him he did not blame the retailers.
