Newsagents are flocking to Cardplai, the greeting cards which are sold with music downloads as the gift. My software company, Tower Systems, has exclusively partnered with Cardplai through our eziPass software. We have done this work pro-bono for the benefit of newsagents. We were offered a cut of every sale but preferred to see this invested in newsagent margin and marketing.
Monday was a big day in the Cardplai launch as it is when software was turned in the many newsagencies which have taken up the offer. The days since have been busy helping newsagents navigate the finer points of activating Cardplai cards.
One POS Solutions user reported a problem with Cardplai running on their hardware running the POS software. We logged into their system, found the incompatibility between our eziPass and the POS software and made a software change to address this.
Cardplai is a terrific opportunity for newsagents to get something exclusive for their channel which is being advertised extensively. Since it is new there are bound to be teething opportunities from which we can improve the offer. Newsagents say they want to be relevant in the changing world. Cardplai is such anopportunity with little risk.
Either you or Bernard have a counting problem here –
Mark only one POS Solutions user has reported a problem with Cardplai running on their hardware running the POS software
Bernard My view is that this happened again yesterday and today. Tower systems took down more newsagency sites with the same product
I think I know the answer – one of you uses an older version of the counting system which involves dextrous use of fingers and thumbs and, if the answer is likely to be over 10, then uses toes which when deployed give a scope of 20 which, if likely to be exceeded, is supplemented with notches on the edge of the desk.
Given this user’s rapidly shrinking user base, the edge of the desk usually remains virginal.
This counting methodology obviously has a following in the South i.e south of South Road and in the jungles of South America, and is known for inducing delusional comment, repetitiveness, plagiarism and avoidance of the facts and should be avoided in favour of modern methods such as solar-powered calculators, spreadsheets and common sense.
Perhaps the real test and comment lies with the actual users of the software – not with the imitators passing themselves off as innovators – or liars passing themselves off as tryers!!

Jim,
Ever since Bernard offered to sell his share of POS last year he has gone even more off the rails with his public comments about us. This nonsense yesterday is hilarious but also frustrating because it is not true and provably so.

I read the pos blog and it is mind blowing to think someone in I.T can say that everyone else is to blame for the crashes with his software but never his own software. Every time his software crashes he blames a third party like a little child but he still chased touch to get esipass installed.
Bernard get over it, computers are made to crash, that is why everyone offers software support even possolutions. We have two newsagencies one runs tower and the other POSsolutions and I can say they both have glitches but we are getting tired of one party constantly blaming someone else for the errors. What we are after is tech support to get in and fix the problem asap not excuses, this happens with our Tower system.

I was keen for Cardplai to succeed but there music selection leaves a lot to be desired.
What age group are they looking for?
I would have guessed from their advertising they are looking for a younger market.
I found no Britney Spears or The Veronicas and nothing from the the cover of PopQueen. Plenty of Slim Dusty and even a Bob Hope for us oldies though.

I dont know if this cardplai will work but I am prepared to give it a go. This is the first time I have used Tower (I use pos solutions and have done for years) but have found easy to setup and run. Ignore Bernard Z. Everyone else does for the reasons outlined here.
