Lazy newspaper poster from The Age

age_poster_jan26.JPGWhat is the point of sending a poster to be displayed with newspapers if it does not connect with the news? None, I say. This poster sent with The Age today is a waste or paper and would be a waste of my retail real-estate.. We are not displaying it. We are using the space, instead, for a poster for The Australian which connects with the news of the day.

This poster from The Age is lazy.

At least you get posters – we have not had posters for The Age, Herald-Sun or Australian Mon-Fri editions for over three years.
It’s always someone else’s fault eg. drivers, distribution, etc, etc and the Herald-Sun area manager doesn’t even respond when I send him photos of their poster stand with other banners in it.

I don’t think they would have done this instead of their normal poster. Looks like something they would have on standby if they had problems printing their normal posters…..however if I’m right you’d think they would have some generic wording that promoted one of their regular sections instead of this lame offering.

Posters are old school; we haven’t used them in over 4 years. They look old and trashy; i have told both our Area Managers the same and they agree.

I have also suggested that the publishers should be going down the road of a digital solution for my business. A screen in my shop window with lead stories would work well. It would also give the product a good lift in appearance.

We should be embracing change and getting the publishers to go with us.

The publishers have been reluctant to go down this road with me.
