New Intralot TVC

The folks at Intralot last week launched three new TV commercials.  They grew out of feedback from Intralot outlets including some correspondents here.  The new TV commercials have been loaded to You Tube here, here and here.  They promote Intralot retailers as the go to place – i.e. not online.

    Mark;

    Until Intralot pay attention to the lack of functionality with their terminals, little excitement will come from most agents, including mine.
    With the volume of scratchies that are being sold (still down 45% on last year), I am not looking forward to the time consuming process involved with redeeming them; and the pain my staff will go through because of the time taken to redeem.
    This should have been a priority with the latest upgrade. Whilst the larger barcode is welcome, it has made little difference to the time taken to process a single transaction.
    I am tempted to turn it off leading into the Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the Mega Draw.
    I have the best staff at my store, probably the best since owning my stores; i can tell you they hate it with a passion also.

    Hah, Atleast you have the option of turning off and not using/selling intralot. Here in WA we have to use this piece of crap for the megadraw itself and every other lotterywest product. You think you’re sick of Intralots complete ignorance of how things actually work in a Lotto kiosk/newsagent? You will not find a single person working in WA that has anything good to say about Lotterywest/Intralot right now. Even customers pick up on the slowness compared to the old system.

    You’d think lotterywests tender process would include some sort of specification for it to atleast equal the old system in every way if not improve it, but I’ve recently found out that there was no tender process involve. LW were approached by Intralot who wowed those in a position to make such a decision, who have never worked a day in an actual outlet. No other sources for lottery terminals were considered or approached.

    All our feedback while training up on the Intralot machines was ignored, frequently the bad performance in training mode was excused by ‘oh the live system will run much faster’. The fact is it runs slower!

    I know Mark’s negative experience with Tatt’s has lead him into being someone one-eyed in his infatuation with Intralot, because there’s an entire state on Intralot (masked as Lotterywest) only and he’d be incredibly hard pressed to find anyone at all happy with it.

    My background is in information systems before I decided to go into business and buying a newsagent. There’s no excuse for the poor performance of the Intralot machines in this day and age. The older Coronis machines were able to achieve near instantaneous response times over measly old ISDN lines that barely push 14400baud. I know because I still have the giant modem that was handling it.

    Mike,

    The only connection between my view of Intralot and Tattersalls is the anti competitive behaviour of tattersalls in terms of placement of Intralot product.

    I am certainly not infatuated.

    I posted the TVC links because I know that these TVCs were created in direect response to feedback from newsagents.
