Bill Express in Administration?

I have been told that Bill Express appointed an Administrator last night and that they have eight weeks to find a buyer for the business.  While I have been unable to confirm this report, I note that Bill Express has announced to the ASX this morning that the Al Othman group has withdrawn its recapitalisation proposal.  This was the only white knight at the Bill Express table.  I expect that this afternoon’s announcement will be regarding Administration.

    What’s there to buy?
    What’s left of this mess?

I can’t wait to hear the results on this mess. I’d like to know how it all went wrong. I know it won’t be a surprise.

I just received the following email from BE:

Urgent Notice to DialTime and Bill Express Network

Bill Express advises that due to its current circumstances we request that you suspend vending all prepaid products, processing any bill payment transactions or taking any bopo card top-ups until further notice.

    Looks like it’s over!

    What happens now?

They haven’t told us what to say to our customers, do we tell them to come back later or to go to who for the products?

Two of my newsagencies are in the top 50. We do close to 300 bills a month. However, there is no money in it. On the contrary, the company owes me money since they change their terms in February. As I have blogged here before.

Silent about the profit we made out of it?

John, it’s because we didn’t make a profit after you consider the time to process the bill, the paper rolls we had to pay for, the electicity it sucked up, etc etc.

I can’t see how anyone REALLY made any substancial money out of it. Worth bragging about anyway.

    That’s right Adam.

Now we have to explain to all our customers that are in the routine of paying bills with us that we can’t.

So after all of this WE get the abuse.

i feel sorry for the people that relied on it .i simply tell customers the story on how they have ripped off thousands of agents and they tend to understand why youy don’t sell the products anymore .

There’s an addition on the ASX site.

They have another notice that explains more.

some more bad news for you all!!!
since the ANf were using the funds from bill express to keep your annual fees down get set for some hefty rises in the annual fees to make up for the short fall.if they say they do not have to put up fees ask them what did they do with the money!!!!

So with BXP in administration where does this leave the newsagents’ in relationship to any financial obligations ? i.e direct debits.
