4 Ingredients cookbook

4_ingred.JPG4 Ingredients is one popular cookbook, according to our customers. Every couple of days we are asked if we have 4 Ingredients in stock. The question leads to a sure sale.

Once we realised its popularity with our demographic we moved 4 Ingredients to the counter from our cookbook area to try and shake out more sales.  The success of this booksays something about word of mouth.

    Whilst this book is a success at both my stores, information i have received is that we have been used as second tier sellers. This title was released in book shops almost 6 months ago; what makes it insulting is the 40% commission book shops received whilst we are given 25% to help clear what stock they have left.
    I can hear the magazine Zsar scratching his head!

    Hello All

    My name is Kim McCosker, I am one of the two authors behind 4 Ingredients and I just want to say a BIG thankyou for all your help and support! I’m glad our book is selling well for you and as for the lag in reaching your shelves, you are able to purchase our books from both NDD and Gary Allen (our distributor) at anytime.

    Book 2 is due out later this month and we signed a contract with Gary Allen that gave them sole rights as distributor in the marketplace for 9 months. It’s not that you are second tier … Not at all, I’m sure they will sell you our second book straight away and I can tell you honestly … It’s a great book and one Rach and I will move heaven and earth to let Australians everywhere know about.

    So thankyou again for all your support, it is greatly appreciated.

    Best Wishes & Happy Cooking

    The book, according to GNS at the Fair, will be available directly through them. GNS had a display at the Fair of the book.

    Shaun;

    The words ‘taken for a ride’ come to mind immediately when i also found out about the coles RRP. My customers are advising me that we are a rip off!
    Maybe i should give them the publishers number and they can explain to my customers why??
    SIMPLY TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE just got prime position in my stores!

    oh and by the way do not buy them from Gary Allen it is a rip off you would think that you can by them cheaper from the distributor well not so ,gns has them for $10.35 and i paid 13.00 at Garry allen so i would have been better off going to coles so my advice to all newsagents is to not get this book in

    It’s a shame as the book is a ripper.

    Without someone regulating what is accepted into our channel and dictating terms rather than being dictated to; nothing will change.

    Newsagents are too busy to care about this issue. Having said that, this is one issue out of hundreds that go through to the keeper.

    Vaughan, this is something a magazine czar could have controlled. We are too busy chopping poppies to get serious about controlling our best asset. Mark
