I’m surprised by the Terri Irwin cover on the Crikey! children’s magazine.
While not offensive, it’s crossed a line from what I’d expect to see on the cover of a children’s magazine.
Maybe it’s that I’m not used to seeing Terri in this way.
I suspect parents won’t see this as a children’s magazine. It certainly looks odd on the shelf in its usual spot.
I was playing with our kiddy mags section and thought the exact same thing when seeing this.
Its strange … very strange.

I think that she’s a great role model for young kids. She’s strong, NOT blonde with big boobs, and comes across as caring and intelligent.
Why are Australians getting so prudish about this cover? Has it become an Islamic country? Since when has it become inappropriate for a woman to show her shoulders in Australasia???

Trace,
I think its the snake. It appears strangely suggestive for a kids magazine. I don’t have a personal problem with the cover, but from a marketing perspective it’s a strange decision to have this as a cover.

GIVE HER A BREAK!!!! I SWEAR IN THIS DAY AND AGE WE CAN SEE GAYS IN PUBLIC KISSING AND MAKING OUT BUT WE CAN’T SEE A WOMAN ON A “ANIMAL” MAGAZINE HOLDING A SNAKE…
