We are excited by the look of the new magazine display we are creating at a new store opening tomorrow. This fixturing is allowing us to full face more titles and half face the rest – far more than traditional newsagency fixturing.
I’ll have more to say about this new concept store in coming weeks but I wanted to post this photo today as a demonstration of breaking from the traditional fixturing which shopfitters drive newsagents to use.
I guess the proof will be in the sales, good or bad. But we felt it was important to experiment.
Great look Mark, I have always thought that magazines need full facing to have the full effect. I fail the useof the traditional waterfall display as they only repeat the top 1/4 of the title but miss the main selling points ie features. Your display will allow customers to zero in on titles easier. Again great look.
How easy is it to get the magazines out of the top tier of the middle section??? It just looks difficult in the picture.
This is the look newslink go for.It is great if all the titles behind the front are the same but if they are diffrent some smaller titles get lost, or if they are not blocked,they don’t stand out and can be hard to find.But I do agree it is a nice look and it’s a shame more newsagents won’t go outside the square.

This new business I am involved with at Watergardens is family run as well. The other newsagency in the centre is 500 metres away – in a centre with two Terry While pharmacies, two Safeway supermarkets etc. So the majors know the centre extremities will attract their own communities.
