Magazine twins

winxp-mag.JPG

The Windows XP magazine on the left is published locally and distributed by Network services. It sells for $14.95. The Windows XP magazine on the right is published in the UK and distributed by NDD. It sells for $19.95.

That these are the same magazine, have different prices and come from different distributors demonstrated how broken the Australian magazine supply model is.

We have early returned the NDD product today. It’s a topped return meaning we rip the top off and post that back for the credit. This would make the publisher / importer happy if they found out that their stock never made it to our shelves and that they cannot sell the returned product elsewhere.

Does NDD every complain about how you return your Supplementaries.

I was always under the assumption that Supplementary Returns were to be sent back as full regardless of recall method.

Kyle maybe so but I am not prepared to pay for the freight for product I did not order and which will fail.

Well if thats the case; I will follow your lead.

I am sick of packaging so many full returns for NDD.

Returns for G&G and Network can be condensed to a couple of parcels.

But NDD decide they want just about everything returned full – just so they can palm it back onto us in a couple of months time and call it a reissue.

Us to I have allways sent all NDD early returns as full only,
Cost’s at least 1 or 2 boxes more for freight a Month.
I wonder if we can get away with cover returns or if they will tell as no credits after the Fact !
    Cheers Lewis
