Magazine & newspaper theft prevented with lockable boxes

kronen_zeitung.JPGMissing parcels of newspapers and magazines is expensive. Here’s how they fix it in Vienna – lockable boxes which drivers and store owners have access to by way of a key. Some are title specific and others for general use. The Kronen Zeitung (large daily newspaper) box was supplied by the publisher. These two are not the biggest I saw it the city. I’m told it addressed the theft of parcels delivered overnight.

This system is also in common use throughout Britain. Quite often the boxes are left outside the store overnight, secured to the shop frontage. They’re movable so that during the day they can be moved round the back of the shop so as not to obstruct the pavement.

    Mark,
We were faced with stock going missing from the front of the shop for almost 12 months and the purchase of large lockable toolbox from ebay, which has been bolted to a concrete slab, has stopped all theft of magazines from our shop. Shame i had to pay $600.00 for it; however it has saved me that amount many times over a year in stolen goods.
