Trade & Exchange Australia is six issues into its tabloid publication of classifieds. Line ads are free and the publication cover price has fallen from $2.50 to $1.00. Now they have written to newsagents suggesting that old copies be given away once a new issue arrives. Next to the Trading Post T&E is easy to overlook and it seems that’s what many customers are doing.
This is just a quick email to wish you well with “Trade & Exchange”. It may take a little while for the word to spread, but if you stick to you current policy of free private ads you’ll go places.
I’ve been getting pissed off with the trading post lately, which once was a great paper to buy and sell.
I haven’t had a chance to check your web (I had misplaced the paper and could’t guess the URL) site but a good web site that is easy to use for dinding stuff and for lodging ads is rather important these days.
I’ve sent the following email to about 20 friends, … spreading the word
Good luck.

Subject: Trading Post Alternative,
Greetings all, In case you are interested,
As you may have noticed the Melbourne trading post has been increasing its rates for “Pay On Sale” ads to the point where its not worth using.
For sometime now I’ve been expecting that someone else would spring up to fill the void, and recently I found out that a new paper (Trade & Exchange Australia) has recently started that allows you to advertise items for free.
I was handed a copy at the station and it looks pretty good, -well laid out. I believe that you can buy it at newsagents for $1.00 but they also have a web site you may want to check out:

I’ve also lost interest in the Trading Post, their answering staff are rude, their adds are expensive, They have got too big for their boots. They deserve to loose their customers. I’ve tried the new “Trade & Exchange” what a pleasure it is to have that “Old Fashion Service again” ask your local Newsagent to stock it.
